Founded by Dr. Piya BhiromBhakdi: President of Thailands’ famous
‘Singha Beer’ producer.
PB
Air was formed to fulfill the air transport needs for the brewery
executives.
The
Mission was to provide safe, fast, and private flights over the
region.
1998
PB Air began flying charter flights for the public – first flight
was PB72 departing to Chumphon.
PB
Air started the ‘Air Limousine Service’ concept within Thailand
flying to destinations not reached directly by scheduled airlines.
Passengers are able to reach “unmatched privacy” in flying PB Air’s
destinations.
All
‘Saen Sabai’ flights ensure optimum enjoyment with warm and
memorable service by its cabin crew.
PB
Air serves food and beverages on every flight.
‘Saen Sabai’ in Thai means the ultimate comfort and relaxation.
With
the great success of the Fokker F27 turboprop – Fokker moved
successfully into the jet market…
… this new jet became the Fokker F28.
The
Fokker F28 was first introduced in 1962.
Fokker used the same interior aircraft layout as the F27!
The
F28 has a swept low wing design.
F28
has twin-wheel tricycle landing gear – aft mounted engines – T tail.
The
wing is swept a 16 degree angle.
PB
Air F28’s seat 79 passengers. (check passenger capacity with PB)
The
F28’s are considered quiet aircraft and are almost naturally ‘hushkitted’!
Fokker F28 was a low cost – short-range airliner able to land on
short runways!
The
success of F28 later led to the creation of the F100 jetliner.
F28’s were also sold to head of states and air forces!
The
F28 mark 4000’s had many upgrades including more seating capacity,
increased range, higher takeoff weight, more noise reduction.
(seating up to 86 passengers)
The
F28 ‘Fellowship’ sold 241 aircraft – to 57 operators in 37
countries.
The
F28 offers safe and efficient operations making it a natural choice
for some airlines.
Very
unique is the airbrake located at the rear – helping slow down
aircraft!
Air
France – Garuda of Indonesia – and Linjeflyg were also major
operators of the F28.
Fokker is a historical name in aviation – and was one of the world’s
first aircraft makers! |
