EDITION BOEING 737-800 Hapag-Lloyd recognised this back in 1972 and established its
own airline company, Hapag-Lloyd Fluggesellschaft. Operations got underway on
March 30, 1973. A 125-seat Boeing 727-100 was the first plane in Hapag-Lloyd
livery to take off for the South. The first flight carrying holidaymakers to
Ibiza was fully booked. The fashions and the aircraft have changed since 1973
but the priority of service, reliability and safety has remained. This is
reflected in the fact that Hapag-Lloyd Flug was one of the world’s first
airlines to gain ISO 9002 certification. The company thus set new standards in
the holiday airline sector. |
