Level-D Simulations: The 767

With years of develpment and research, Level-D Simulations: The 767 is one of the most amazing product releases for the Microsoft Flight Simulator platform. Designed by the same development team that worked on the famous 767 "Pilot in Command" releases, this version for FS2004 has many new features, systems, and extras to make this a quite remarkable product. It is not just a simple drop-in aircraft, but an entire suite of components that function together in order to give you the most accurate simulation experience possible.

Product Features

Aircraft Visual Model: The 767 visual model was done superbly and includes such features as: R.A.T. deployment animation, EVERY outside lightings tied to power busses and dedicated switches, high quality 32-bit/DXT3 livery texture formats, flex wing, apu door, aileron droop, and a two speed winshield wiper system.

Aircraft Flight Model: Level D Sim has gone to great links to ensure a great flight model with their 767. The product was flight tested by real world 767 pilots and includes authentic aircraft performance calculated directly from flight model parameters, accurate thrust/drag modeling, real world Engine Out performance, proper weight and balance calculations and load management.

Virtual Cockpit: The virtual cockpit in the 767 will completly immerse you into the role of Captain or a First Officer of a 767. This mode includes independent Captain & F/O gauges that are fully functional and clickable, two different interior lighting options, and a reflective window option.

Aircraft Systems: As with the flight model, Level D Sim has worked very hard on the aircraft systems to replicate it's real world counterpart. Some key aircraft systems features are: a fully implemented cabin pressurization gauge & logic, cabin temperature control, programmation of engine failures triggered by V1,V2,Vr speeds, system failures, and full TCAS logic.

Radios/Communications: The aircraft features an advanced radio / communications suite that includes such things as independent NAV1, NAV2, and ILS radios, enhanced ground crew dialogs for interphone connection/ground calls, pushback procedure, and ground horn, cabin crew calls, etc.

Other Systems: The 767 also includes a fully functioning FMC with such features as: new FMC pages (DIVERT), winds aloft forecast entries, SIDS/STARS/Approaches simulations and creation, VNAV logic, and accurate Cost Index calculations. The AFDS includes AUTOLAND logic, realistic Flight Director, an A/P disconnection switches on the yoke and throttles, plus much more.

FS Compatibility / System Requirements

This product is only compatible with FS2004, so of course, FS2004 is required. For your computer, we recommend you have a 1.6 GHz machine, with a 128 Mb memory video card. System memory should be a minimum of 512. Low-end on-board sound chips are NOT recommended. A plugin sound card, such as a Soundblaster Audigy, is recommended. In some cases, sounds will not work correctly unless you have an adequate sound card.

Windows XP is the official operating system that is supported for use with the 767. It will not work on Windows 98/Me.

Fly On a 767-300ER from London, Gatwick to Orlando, FL!

Captain David Henry, director of flight operations, invites you to join him and First Officer Norman Port on a memorable flight on-board this Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Your journey begins at London Gatwick airport and takes you to Orlando in the United States of America.

En-route David and Norman will show you some of the systems on this Extended Range aircraft. During our Atlantic crossing you will also learn about the North Atlantic Track in great detail. We also discuss, in depth, the topic of ETOPS (Extended Twin Range Operations) and the implications of flying a twin engine aircraft over the Atlantic.

You will also see and hear the full briefing for the take-off from London Gatwick along with details of the procedures needed in the event of an emergency. The descent and arrival into Orlando International Airport are also discussed in detail.

Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System

A relatively new system on the aircraft, TCAS (Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System) is described to you. This system can detect and monitor other civil aircraft in its flight path and is now mandatory in the USA. This program was filmed using 4 cameras to give you an unparalleled view of both take-off and landing. We also show you the aircraft being loaded with cargo and baggage along with the fuel required for this transatlantic flight. This is a truly educational program for all to enjoy.

Leisure International Airways

Leisure International Airways was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air UK Leisure, especially to manage and operate the two Boeing 767-300ERs which are leased by Unijet from ILFC. "We decided to adopt a separate identity for the 767 operation so as to differentiate between that and Air UK Leisure's European area charter activity with its Boeing 737 fleet", said Jeremy Dixon, managing director. Leisure began 767 transatlantic services with two 326-passenger long range-300ER versions on 1st May 1993. During the first six months of operation, Leisure set an industry record for Boeing 767 utilization. The figure of 17.7 hours per day compares with an industry average of 10.3 hours according to Boeing. In the words of Chris Parker, chairman of both Unijet and Leisure, "the 767 provides excellent passenger comfort and has a range capability unequalled in this category of aircraft."
